THANKSGIVING will be celebrated this month and the
following story was handed to me recently.
Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't
sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting
sheep.
The leftovers beckoned - the dark meat and
white
But I fought the temptation with all of my
might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the
door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies
galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into
the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of
pie
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the
trees...
Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries,
please.
May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey
be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious, may your pies
take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your
thighs!
OSTEOPATHIC ARCHIVES: Dr. Martyn Richardson spoke at the Olive Garden Restaurant on September
18 and related that a female by the name of Florence Covey had a six bed
medical facility in Cumberland Foreside in 1921. She was a graduate of the
class 1902 from the American School of Osteopathy. Doris Flaherty gave
Dr. Richardson a scrapbook with pictures of the building of OHM on Brighton
Ave. and many of the staff and doctors at that time. Thank you Doris. Do you
have memorabilia to donate, or have copied? Contact Gay Marks, NEOHC Archivist
at UNE 207-283- 0170 Ext 2131.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone! Three Wise Women would have...
Asked directions, Arrived on time, Helped
deliver the baby, Cleaned the stable, Made a casserole, Brought practical gifts
and There would be Peace on Earth. And they'd have made reservations in
advance so there'd be room for everyone at the inn! –Unknown
